Teaching Philosophy
Every student is unique, with individual talents, goals, and learning styles. My teaching approach is flexible and student-centered, drawing on diverse methods and repertoire from various musical cultures. I prioritize strong fundamentals—healthy technique, musicianship, and artistic expression—while fostering a lifelong love for music. My goal is for students to grow independently, build confidence, and find personal meaning in their musical journey.
Teacher Responsibilities
I provide a safe, supportive, and motivating learning environment. Each student receives an individualized assessment and curriculum plan, including:
-
Technique and repertoire development
-
Music theory and sight-reading
-
Ear training and relevant music history
Parent Responsibilities
Parental involvement, especially for students under age 7, is strongly encouraged. Observing lessons helps parents understand practice expectations and support their child at home. Communication via email is welcome for questions and updates throughout the week.
